Are you a skilled internal communications and engagement professional, with experience of delivering internal communications and engagement campaigns that support organisational priorities? Are you passionate about communicating with staff to raise awareness and understanding of new initiatives and ways of working; as well as engaging with staff at all levels of an organisation to drive cultural and organisational change?
Transport for Greater Manchester oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport programmes, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
We are seeking a Senior Communications Officer to support TFGM’s new organisational change programme, Future Ready. Future Ready is about getting our purpose, practices and people ready for the future, as TFGM’s role within Greater Manchester changes and as we explore new ways of working in future. The Future Ready programme involves engaging with our employees about our new organisational purpose, vision and values; whilst supporting cultural change; as well as responding to the impact of the pandemic to introduce new ways of working across our workforce and will involve working with senior stakeholders across the organisation, as well as engaging with staff at all levels.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for supporting the development of and day to day successful delivery of internal communications and engagement activity to support the Future Ready programme. This may include all-staff briefing sessions with senior stakeholders; visits to frontline staff; and drafting staff videos, newsletters and social channels.
You will have experience of devising and delivering innovative internal communications campaigns to support key organisational priorities as well as experience of successfully planning, developing and delivering engagement with staff at all levels of an organisation. You will also be proficient with producing high quality content across multiple channels with the evidenced ability to translate complex issues into appropriate formats for target audiences and have experience of client management and influencing skills, including advising key senior colleagues as required on communications management.
You will also be educated to degree level or have equivalent levels of experience.
This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Opportunity.
