Summary
We're seeking a proven Project Delivery (PD) professional to energise improvement and maturity of our Project Delivery Policies and processes!
You will act as the primary point of responsibility and accountability for maintaining and supporting Dstl’s PD policies and processes and associated roles. The objectives are to drive efficiencies in our delivery management and align with MOD and government best practice.
You will provide help and support to the process users at all levels within the project, programme or portfolio management communities.

Work location
Dstl is strongly encouraging blended and flexible working either at one of our sites or from home or both. We want to empower you to undertake your duties at the most appropriate location for the task, however you will be allocated a Dstl site as a base. You may be required to travel to other Dstl and MoD sites as required.

- Develop new, and improve existing PD policies and processes (fully engaging and collaborating with users) where required;
- Lead, deliver and undertake change management of improvement activities related to PD policies, processes and roles as defined in the P3 improvement programme plan;
- Lead and be the focal point for all related corporate policy and process initiatives that impact on PD;
- Optimise our PD policies and processes to align with P3 tools and vice versa;
- Provide support to our 450 strong PD community of users, including explaining updates, answering routine questions etc;
- Collaborate with our PD Assurance Principal to ensure that key process controls are adhered to and provide the required corporate assurance that risks are appropriately mitigated;
- Work with Functions and Divisions to provide assurance that the PD delivery system is fit for purpose;
- Bi-annually undertake benchmarking of our PD capability against the P3 Maturity Model.
Responsibilities
- Has a passion for developing efficient and effective policies and processes;
- Can collaborate with others to deliver improvement and efficiencies;
- Is a specialist in Portfolio, Programme and Project (P3) management;
- Has a desire to provide assured delivery of our projects and programmes;
- Has ability to put themselves in a process user’s shoes in order to fully understand the requirements.
Qualifications
Essential:
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), Prince 2 or equivalent;
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and Management of Portfolios practitioner qualifications (crucial within 12 months of appointment);
Desirable:
- APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ);
- APMG Change Management Practitioner (or equivalent).
