The mission of the Cloud Developer Advocacy team is to win the hearts and minds of Developers through authenticity, community and technical engagement. The Cloud Developer Advocacy team is first and foremost pivoted on enabling a healthy ecosystem for technical communities to create and build things in the cloud.

We are looking for Cloud Developer Advocates who will have a strong background in Kubernetes and containers. As a Cloud Developer Advocate, you’ll be instrumental in building a large and vibrant community for Microsoft Azure. You’ll build and nurture great relationships with developers online and in your local city, create amazing samples and content. and will be focused on winning the hearts and minds of our technical audiences at scale. Responsibilities

Create technical content, videos, and code samples from beginner to in-depth and advanced best practices that demonstrate how to work with Kubernetes on Azure but also upstream Kubernetes and open source projects like Helm, CNAB and Docker.


Provide technical feedback and guidance to Azure engineering teams focused on containers. Use your hands-on experience and skills to earn trust of product teams and help shape the future of our services, always advocating for what is best for the end user.
Win the hearts and minds of developers by contributing to key open-source container projects. Work with partnering products, projects, or companies that are leaders in containers to help maintain the high-quality experience with Azure.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and awareness of tools, systems, projects, and products that are known or emerging leaders in container ecosystem. Apply your awareness and experience to work with the team and form vision and enhance strategy on improving Azure products and services.
Understand what the Kubernetes community expects, bring this data-driven feedback to product teams. Champion Azure products and services when they are truly relevant in your local community at conferences, meetups, online forums, Twitter, Stack Overflow, Hacker News, and more, to earn their trust and respect for Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications

  • Background in Software Engineering with the focus on Linux, Distributed Systems, and containers and hands-on skills in Golang.
  • Experience and skills in Linux, Networking, and other open-source projects for in container ecosystem.
  • Experience with production implementations of Kubernetes.
  • Willing to learn Rust.
  • Solid communication skills - ability to be both a strong technical writer as well as a dynamic public speaker.
  • Passion for helping developers connect people and communities through the cloud.
  • A self-starter that can manage and prioritize initiatives that will make our developers and platform the most successful.
  • Experience working with 3rd party communities, social media and blogging
