We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Oncology Business Unit as the Lynparza Global Product Leader (GPL), based in Cambridge, UK. The Lynparza GPL is a complex, senior and highly visible role in our company. As Lynparza GPL you will be accountable for the stewardship of one of the company’s most important medicines, leading the cross-functional Global Product Team to deliver the integrated global product strategy, inclusive of clinical development, medical, regulatory and commercial plans.

AstraZeneca Oncology Business Unit
Our Oncology Business Unit (OBU) is responsible for driving growth and maximizing commercial performance of the global oncology and hematology portfolio within AstraZeneca. We see the oncology revolution as a once in a lifetime scientific opportunity with the potential to be the biggest step change since combinatorial chemistry and antibiotics, with 20 years of growth to come.
Together, we are going to win in Oncology with 7 scientific platforms in Immunotherapy, Cell Therapy, Immune Engagers, Tumor Drivers and Resistance, DNA Damage Response, Radio-Immune Conjugates and Antibody Drug Conjugates. Representing one of the most diversified oncology portfolios in the industry. We are moving into an exciting period of execution and are structured to accelerate launch and rapidly impacting our patients.
In addition, we have a very robust Oncology pipeline including investigational therapies in varied stages of clinical development, from recently approved products to earlier-stage molecules in clinical trials.

The Role: Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
The position reports to the Global Franchise Head, GU&GYN Cancers and key accountabilities include:
Lead the cross functional Lynparza Global Product Team (GPT) which together defines and drives the strategic direction of the medicine, ensuring scientific value creation across the lifecycle including clinical development, regulatory approvals, product launch/commercialization and lifecycle management.
Identify opportunities for the product strategy and drive decisions by coalescing diverse internal and external stakeholders’ interests, including those of our Alliance partner Merck.
Ensure effective and efficient working across the AZ/Merck Alliance playing leading roles on several key interface teams, including co-lead of the Joint Development Team.
Be a role model and an ambassador for the medicine/brand and for AZ with our internal partners and external collaborators, with representatives from the scientific community and health authorities, and in any interactions with health care practitioners and patients.
Be entrepreneurial in problem solving and maximizing opportunities for the brand through shaping and driving ambitious and deliverable product strategy.
Ensure appropriate Governance and Compliance and protect AZ’s Rights, Data and Intellectual Property.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an inspirational, empowering leader in a strategic multifunctional environment.
Exercise good judgment in decision-making and understands how to work with a cross-functional team to gather appropriate inputs, challenge ideas, and come to clear decisions.
Has managed complex projects with ambitious milestones in high-pressure circumstances.
Proven track record of achieving results through others, as well as coaching and developing high performing team members.
Oncology therapeutic area experience.
Beneficial Experiences/Qualifications
Scientific or medical degree, potentially coupled with marketing or commercial experience and/or degrees.
Has been a sub-team leader and worked in a Global Product Team (Early or Late stage) as a core team member
Drug development and regulatory/filing experience.
