As Account Leader - Rail & Metos, this role is within our Digital Advisory portfolio. You will nurture and maintain relationships with our clients in the Rail & Metros sector, taking a key role in building trust with stakeholders and enhancing our reputation within the industry. Your focus will be on winning great work, while remaining accountable for the delivery of excellent projects to delight our clients. You will bring a strategic focus, planning out key priorities over the next few years to grow the account and maximise opportunity for Mott MacDonald, while securing our position as the trusted digital advisor of choice. You will also work closely with Account Leaders from other business units to deliver a client centric experience and be supported by our Service and Product Leads who are responsible for specific offers within Digital Ventures.
The preference is that the role is delivered from one of London, Leeds or Cambridge though a UK nationwide position is an option.
What you will contribute to the team;
Through proactive business development build meaningful client relationships and develop a strong pipeline of work (approx. 3 days/week)
- Develop a clear growth strategy for the account, spanning our Advisory portfolio, defining our positioning and partnerships and building a strong right to win as our clients' preferred trusted advisor
- Serve as our primary point of contact for internal and client stakeholders in that account, building trust through effective relationship management
- Engage target clients and Mott MacDonald's wider business representatives and technical experts to build awareness of existing and new service offerings and digital solutions
- Seek out new prospects and convert opportunities into projects in a self-managed sales pipeline
- Lead the preparation and presentation of responses to requests for proposals, from initial bid strategy and positioning through submission and client interviews
- Lead and oversee commissions while supporting team development and growth (approx. 2 days/week)
- Engage with client executives, assisting in shaping strategies, adopt new ways of working and accelerate progress in unlocking the greatest value from digital
- Provide high value multi-sector consultancy to customers through consulting teams
- Challenge the norm and drive innovative ways of delivering outstanding experiences
- Hold accountability for successful project delivery - to quality, time and cost, that delights our clients
- Mentor and support the development of colleagues working on projects in your account
Required for the position of Account Leader - Rail & Metro:
- Demonstrable experience of business development and client relationship management within a consultancy setting.
- Applied experience of digital in the Rail & Metros sector
- Core management consulting skillset across key components of digital transformation - people, process and technology
- Customer-centric perspective, management of complex client relationships and the ability to understand clients' needs and challenges
- Strong business acumen with focus on sales and pipeline development
- Strong commercial acumen in directing consulting commissions
- Strong communication skills, polished creative/technical writing and a confident presenter
- Mentor and coach to colleagues to build broader the team's capability and capacity
