Operations Planning Manager
The Role
Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit an Operations Planning Manager to join the Container Division.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Planning and work closely with the Operations Delivery Senior Management Team this role will be vital in providing critical information and insight to ensure Operational Delivery Plans for shifts are focused on meeting customer demands and business objectives.
Key Requirements
Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all factors influencing current and future business demand across all operational areas
Maintain a detailed understanding of all factors influencing current and future supply of all critical resources used in the delivery of operations across all operational areas.
Understand how current performance compares with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) across all operational areas and seek measures to address clear shortfalls.
Ensure visibility of any known factors that may impact Operational Capability.
Maintain strong commercial links to aid understanding of commercial priorities across all operational areas.
Create an annual Operational Plan covering all operational areas, ensuring the target outcomes are visible to all stakeholders
Work with key stakeholders to execute an effective performance vs plan review mechanism to enable outcomes to be shared in a consistent and timely fashion.
Identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement through Operational Planning activity and build business cases in support, ensuring delivery of expected benefits from any resulting work streams assigned to you.
Who are we looking for?
Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:
Essential:
- Educated to Degree level/equivalent or with relevant experience in an Operational environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, operating across all levels within the Port of Felixstowe.
- Ability to present and communicate information and recommendations to Management using strong influencing skills delivering key messages and achieving common visions and goals.
- Ability to design and build new processes and systems of work to enable the successful development of self and role.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Experience in Project Management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
Desirable:
- Understanding of all Operational activities undertaken at the Port Of Felixstowe with an appreciation of the dependencies and conflicts between each
- Previous experience in an operational management position or similar
