Human Biological Samples (HBS) are fundamental to medical research in the discovery, development and implementation of new treatments and diagnostics. HBS are ethically sensitive materials and the collection, handling and access to HBS are subject to strict regulations, principles and ethical guidelines. Tracking of HBS collected as part of AstraZeneca’s clinical trials is a key pillar of compliance and an increasingly integrated field. You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of system users, study set ups, documentation and communication channels. They support the System Manager with the monitoring of system metrics and identification of risks, as well as collecting user experience feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-user onboarding, training and communications
Perform checks on new study set-ups prior to releasing the study to end users
Configuration and troubleshooting of AZ data feeds (e.g. EDC and VCV) for new studies
Maintain study loading achievement records, with participation in regular study loading reviews with external vendors
Schedule and run regular reports from the system as required
Provide training support and advice to end users
Own, maintain and promote the support mailbox
Own, maintain and promote Workplace page/content
Own, maintain and promote Sharepoint site/content
Responsibility for document management (e.g. guidance docs, decision trees, Study Configuration Documents, study list)
Support the HBS Tracking System Manager with system metrics processes and analysis, including process improvement
Participate in User Acceptance Testing when new systems – or new versions of existing systems - are implemented
Essential:
Degree level education
Excellent written and oral communications skills
High ethical standards combined with attention to detail
Strong collaborative, partnering, and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to work independently
Willingness to take decisions
Desirable:
Use of GlobalCODE® or similar platforms
Experience of working with multiple partners
Knowledge of HBS regulations, laws and standards
Good analytical and problem-solving skills involving large and complex datasets
Experience in pharmaceuticals and clinical research with direct experience of working with HBS
Fluent in English as the AstraZeneca working language
