Our growing Workplace team is looking for a Workplace Manager for our Waltham, MA facility. This person will be responsible for all services relating to the physical building and ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of employees is adhered to. This includes:
- HVAC systems
- Mechanical and electrical services
- Wastewater, plumbing, and RODI systems
- Compressed Air and Gas Distribution Systems
- Building Automation
- Fire Safety Systems
- Building and Structural Maintenance
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all services are delivered in line with agreed contract terms, abcam procedures and health and safety guidelines along with industry and statutory regulations
- Ensure all planned and reactive facilities services tasks are undertaken in a thorough, timely and professional manner
- Monitor, review and manage sub-contracted services to ensure consistent service delivery the highest standard
- Build strong relationships and work with our landlord, partners and workplace suppliers through regular service and contract review meetings.
- Liaise with our internal customers regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and identify service improvements and ways to improve the employee experience
- Budgetary review
Qualifications
You have a minimum of 10 years work experience in facilities services and have a deep technical understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical and electrical services, wastewater, plumbing, RODI systems, fire safety alarms, compressed air, gas distribution systems, building and structural maintenance.
You have a strong knowledge of building automation and experience successfully managing both in-house and sub-contracts within agreed financial and time constraints. You have experience managing budgets and costs and are able to keep up with change and ambiguity.
You are available for emergency call when situations arise. You are comfortable lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and twisting on an occasional basis and are comfortable climbing ladders when needed.
You have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills and can interact effectively with all levels of the organization. You are a great people manager who cares about their team, their development and their careers.
