abcam is looking to add an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager for our US location to our accounting and finance team. Based in Waltham, MA, the role will take ownership of the US Accounts Receivable team and processes, reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager. The person in this role will work to transform the Accounts Receivable function, share ideas for best practices and lead on all aspects of invoicing and credit control.

The role involves:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the AR team consisting of 8 team members
  • Create and implement changes to work assignments, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs
  • Take overall ownership of the aging to ensure all accounts are managed within an appropriate level
  • Provide guidance on the resourcing requirements to be a leading AR department
  • Be the point of escalation for key customer account queries
  • Help improve accuracy and efficiency of the accounts receivable team
  • Propose corresponding system/process optimisation requirements
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers / Customer Services to ensure effective cross-collaboration and timely billing-specific query resolution

Qualifications

You have a bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience managing an Accounts Receivable team/function. You also have experience working with an ERP system (oracle is utilized in this role).

You are innovative and excel at building new partnerships. You are a strong communicator and looking forward to a role where you can be at the forefront of building abcam’s strategic business. You have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are a self-starter with a proven track record in billing management and people leadership.
