Job Description
Our Workplace team based in our Waltham, MA facility is looking to add a Workplace Engineer to their team. Working alongside our other engineer, this person will be responsible for the building's maintenance, water, wastewater, and power and execute any ongoing maintenance and operations of the physical building infrastructure.
The role involves:
- Develop and implement maintenance, operation and calibration programs and standard operating procedures to ensure facility safety, reliability and compliance with quality policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the building automation/management system including responding to and resolving alarm conditions
- Coordinate with Landlord to ensure the timely maintenance and repairs to base building
- Ensure certification and maintenance for the building’s wastewater pH neutralization system, life safety systems, fume hoods, BSC’s and custom ventilated enclosures.
- Effectively collaborate with key customers and support groups regarding operations, maintenance activities, strategies, scheduling, and planning.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and minimize impact of maintenance activities to ongoing operations
Qualifications
You have 8+ years of work experience within a manufacturing environment (life science background is a plus but is not required). You have an understanding of quality systems, water systems, compressed air, gas distribution systems, HVAC, etc. You have a basic understanding of BMS - preferably Trane.
You are licensed in MA as a Grade 1 industrial wastewater operator (or are willing to obtain license upon hire). You have experience coordinating all maintenance in relation to the building services including building fabric and structure using internal and external resources. You have experience in managing both in-house and sub contracts within agreed financial and time constraints.
This role requires lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and twisting on an occasional basis. You must be comfortable climbing ladders. Standing and walking are performed on an occasional to frequent basis.
