Job Description
As we continue our mission, we are building a new manufacturing team here in Waltham for our Protein products. This is a unique opportunity to be part of new growth at Abcam.
To help with this growth, we need a Manufacturing Associate and join our in-house manufacturing team and contribute to the component manufacturing for immunoassay kits, maintain material inventory, and the overall operation of lab equipment.
About the In-house Manufacturing Team at Abcam:
The In-house Manufacturing Team works closely with other teams across the business to deliver high quality products. Relevant skills include an understanding of the biological sciences, an eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and teamwork.
Your role will include:
- Bulk preparation of kit components, ability to read and understand batch production guides for intermediates and finished goods
- Effectively use various laboratory equipment such as Biological Safety Cabinets, pipettes, incubators, balances, pH meters, centrifuges, etc.
- Preparing and maintaining proper documentations
- Maintain line clearance and clean work environment according to 5S
- Use ERP system to complete work orders
- Support any process development and, optimization of products
- Assist with and troubleshooting manufacturing processing
- Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health and Safety procedures
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should possess either a Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences or at least two years of experience in biomanufacturing, with a preference for the former. It is important for the candidate to have a solid understanding of basic laboratory techniques and be proficient in using MS Office applications.
Being an enthusiastic team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills is essential, along with the ability to work independently when necessary. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. A strong work ethic and effective time management skills are highly valued in this role. Additionally, the candidate must be physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
