Job Description
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the completion of Cycle Counts and all associated documentation in accordance with company policy. Sample duties include cycle counting, receiving, putting away, training, scheduling, resourcing, discrepancy investigation, stock adjustment management, and report generation. In addition, this role requires report generation and presentation to Abcam’s leadership team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct cycle counting on raw materials and IHM bulk in a laboratory setting, including cold storage.
- Appropriately resource and monitor cycle count progress to ensure the department fulfills policy requirements.
- Manage IHM and QC handoffs.
- Maintain records of cycle counts and prepare those for auditing from an outside firm, and be prepared to answer inquiries about our procedures.
- Receive and put away materials in the assigned locations.
- Receive count and adjustment requests from various departments, and carry out these ad-hoc requests in a timely manner.
- Follow up on items in quarantine and complete discrepancy investigations.
- Follow up on items requiring stock adjustment and ensure actions are completed in a timely manner, and properly recorded in our inventory system.
- Create, organize, and maintain documentation related to cycle counts, including reports and worksheets for finance, and a progress dashboard for the leadership team.
- Coordinate with the Costing team quarterly for write-offs, and monitor write-offs.
- Develop and prepare monthly summary reports for the leadership team.
- Comply with all Health & Safety (H&S) regulations
- Additional tasks as requested
Qualifications
You have a bachelors degree in any related field and are proficient in excel and data visualization tools. You have experience working in Oracle performing inventory related transactions. You have prior experience working in a team-oriented environment with the proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
You have demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with extraordinary organizational skills. You are a confident and effective communicator and have experience solving problems both individually and by working with others.
