Job Description
As the Global Head of Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing the strategic implementation of operational best practices across the organizations supply chain, manufacturing and logistics functions to enhance efficiency, optimize processes, and improve overall business performance. It will also look to engage and educate other parts of the business in Lean methodologies and best practices. This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of operational methodologies, change management, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives on a global scale.
Role
To lead a small global team of lean practitioners and experts to shape and deliver Abcam's journey towards operational excellence, including:
1) Delivering Lean Academy training to colleagues in Supply Chain, Manufacturing and beyond (e.g., HR, Finance, R&D)
2) Supporting the Lean team members in the execution of their continuous improvement programs at local sites
3) Promoting and driving Abcam's evolution towards a performance-driven, customer-driven culture of continuous improvement, driving quality, delivery, cost and innovation.
Qualifications
You are degree educated in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or similar numerical subject and must have a recognised qualification in Lean, Six Sigma, or associated discipline. You have a Black Belt in Lean and live and breath it along with at least 10 years experience implementing Lean methodologies in a manufacturing and/or life sciences environment, either direct or via consultancy, giving that deep knowledge and understanding. You are a great leader with the ability to fully engage both your team and senior stakeholders, collaborating across a global business to deliver sustainable improvements. You have managing dispersed teams of lean experts and of delivered lean training to diverse groups and have the necessary temperament required to work with operational, hands-on employees as well as senior stakeholders.
