Job Description
Abcam is seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Interim Logistics Manager for a 6-month assignment in Waltham, MA. As a global leader in providing high-quality life science research tools, Abcam is dedicated to enabling scientific discoveries that improve the quality of life. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact our operations by overseeing the logistics process, developing team members, and driving continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise individual team members and co-supervise the full team in the process and workflow.
- Develop team members through continued training and added responsibility via projects.
- Hold weekly or bi-weekly one-to-one meetings with staff to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Identify and recognize top performers, while implementing action plans for bottom performers.
- Support the Inventory Specialist in overseeing cycle count data and accuracy metrics, seeking solutions for improvements.
- Monitor stock capacity and develop a business case when necessary for additional space, supporting the team lead in managing stock room space.
- Ensure team responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.
- Experiment with the logistics process to make continuous improvements and efficiencies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Interim Logistics Manager position at Abcam's Waltham, MA location should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or logistics position, either at Abcam or a similar company. They should possess proven leadership or line management experience and demonstrate strong project management skills. A BA/BS or equivalent degree is required. Additionally, candidates must be comfortable lifting 50 lbs and be able to stand, sit, and walk for longer periods of time.
