Job Summary
Develop, maintains, and integrates SmartCOMM application software, related project management activity, and production support for insurance applications (Policy and Claim); works closely with internal and external clients, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements; Develops and integrates application software, including unit testing and implementation efforts; continues to maintain and support software implementation. Directly responsible for designing and developing solutions using SmartCOMM
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and deploys timely updates to existing communications that align to PLADS roadmap
- Creates new communications that align to PLADS roadmap
- Supports enhancements of our capabilities through targeted and prioritized technical enablement projects
- Works closely with the Business Analysts for key technical development/oversight based on Stakeholders needs
- Supports bi-weekly release duties shared with other developers on the team
- Documents process changes and/or new process put in place
- Supports managing installs of Smartcomm package updates
Supports maintaining/updating of various Salesforce sandboxes for use by development, training and AE teams (Demo)
- Aligns work and prioritization with Team Lead and Program Manager Contributes to the
development effort by participating in workshops, speaking about technical solutions, builds
prototypes and takes on coding assignments
- Translates simple to moderately complex user stories into functional and actionable software within the IT environment
- Collaborates on and informs cross-functional teams of new feature technical design, technical requirements, limitations, and implementation
- Performs unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of new product functionality; analyzes and mitigates issues identified during testing
- Actively participates in meetings with representatives from multiple business and/or IT units
- Performs other related duties as required
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree In IT or a related field
- Three or more years of programming experience or related work experience Experience and understanding of multiple programming languages and applicable applications.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of SmartCOMM /Thunderhead concepts & development
- Sound knowledge of SMARTCOMM(Thunderhead) Suits of Products – Advanced Template Designer (Business Content Studio and Admin), Data Modeler (Business Object Studio)
- Sound knowledge about SmartCOMM Modules - Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer and Web Editor
- Sound knowledge in generating Interactive communications (Draft Editor, Data Capture)
- Good knowledge about Thunderhead/Smart Communication API's
- Well versed with preparation of the XML data schema and their mapping to business data objects
- Developing business templates as per the business requirements Consolidating form templates, recognizing common graphical elements, information blocks, layouts, variable data requirements, functional similarity and multilingual
- Well versed in creation of Static Layouts for Print and Responsive Layouts for Web
- Technical knowledge in creating Simple, Scriptable Batch Config/Template Selector and Output Configurations for post processing
