Position: Sr. Application Developer (Multiple Openings)

Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000
Duties:
- Design, develop, maintain, and integrate application software, related project management activity, and production support.
- Work on multiple projects at a time as a member of each project team, often as a project leader.
- Work on enterprise-wide small and large complex projects that require the highest level of expertise; participates on project teams, systems and data analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement activities, as well as related maintenance and more complex production support.
- Define and develop the project scope of multiple complex projects with assistance from the project team and serve as the project point of contact when necessary.
- Coordinate and work with quality assurance team as the project point of contact.
- Work with vendor partners for application setup, code deployment and troubleshooting.
- Work with other teams on technical integration requirements and coordinate integration testing.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to application development teams.
- Lead and/or participate in project-planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze development requirements, provide design recommendations for complex systems, and recommend methods and assignments.
- Test and implement cross-functional systems, ensuring system meets the needs of client and business .
- Provide design recommendations, develop application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces; write complex design specifications.
- Make complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high specifications and division standards; review effort to ensure compliance to application standards.
- Develop new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes; make recommendations toward the development of reusable routines or components, including object-oriented base class reuse.
- Translate business and technical requirements into cross-functional business application systems, providing custom integration solutions, including major system enhancements; collaborate in setting development guidelines.
- On-call duties required as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in CIS, Computer Science, IT, Mechanical Engineering or technology-related discipline
- Must have 5 years of progressive experience in software development or systems analysis positions.
- Must have at least 4 years of experience with:
- Applying understanding of multiple programming languages, systems, as well as systems and data design and project management methodologies
- All phases of software development including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications.
- Utilizing experience with:
- Microsoft .Net Technology Stack: ASP.NET; ADO.NET; C#.NET; LINQ; HTML; CSS; AJAX; XML; Visual Studio; .NET Framework 4.5/4.0/3.5; IIS 7.5/7.0/6.0; and SQL Server 2012/2008
- Java/JVM & Scripting Technology Stack, including JavaScript & JQuery
- API and Integration, including: Entity Framework, SOAP, XSLT, JSON, REST, and WebServices
- Configuration management and DevOps: TFS (Team foundation server), Visual Source Safe/SVN, and GITHub
- Cloud Technology Stack: Windows AZURE
- Position may be eligible to work remotely but is based out of and reports to Aflac offices in Columbus, GA. Must be available to travel to Columbus, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
Total Rewards
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000.
