What does it take to be successful in this role?

Knowledge of the operation of passenger vehicles and ability to operate these vehicles with safety and caution

Knowledge of general service requirements for passenger vehicles; ability to perform minor maintenance and arrange for scheduled, or unscheduled service for vehicles

Knowledge of traffic laws, rules, and regulations governing the use of passenger motor vehicles, and the ability to adhere to these laws with safety, and caution

Demonstrated experience using and an understanding of human resources laws, regulations, policies and procedures, quality management tools, concepts/methodology, practices, and techniques

Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, internal and external customers, and visitors

Experience using Microsoft Office software, including basic experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Knowledge of Aflac’s organizational and functional operating structure, products, administrative procedures, policy data, benefit plans, and terminology

Ability to maintain necessary records and to prepare reports concerning accidents

Ability to maintain a courteous and professional attitude when working with employees, senior and executive management, and visitors

Ability to work with minimal supervision, organize workload, and set priorities

Possession of a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and adherence to all aspects of Aflac’s driving policy, including ability to be insurable by the company insurance carrier

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related field
  • Four years of experience as a professional driver or in vehicle maintenance and support
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class C, with Passenger endorsement, or ability to obtain it within 180 days of employment
  • Must successfully complete and maintain certification for First Aid, CPR/AED (Red Cross and/or American Heart Association) or ability to obtain it within 180 days of employment

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Leads, motivates, and coaches the corporate transportation team; provides consistent and constructive feedback to employees; trains, develops, or identifies employees’ training and resource needs, maintains employee personnel records, establishes priorities, schedules daily work, and monitors the quality and quantity of work performed by the department and the individuals within the department; recommends promotions and terminations, etc.

Schedules personnel to ensure that the company’s operations are staffed appropriately; follows up and reviews department operations and productivity levels to ensure that schedules and accuracy are maintained to established standards; plans, develops, and administers departmental procedures and policies, and ensures that organization policies and procedures are communicated and practiced; develops appropriate measures or standards for performance, and uses these to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve services and employees

Assists with the development and implementation of approved plans and the annual budget to support the achievement of department/division goals; leads and/or participates on projects and services necessary to support and improve existing processes and services; maintains adequate control of resources to ensure ongoing operations of the department within established budget, productivity, and efficiency standards; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal customers and services vendors to proactively address issues that may have the potential to impact the quality and growth of the department’s business or result in costly penalties and fines from regulatory agencies

Serves as a working supervisor and assists in the transportation of company top executives, high profile guests, and employees safely to various destinations by operating company passenger vehicles and/or company buses vehicles while remaining constantly aware of road conditions; routes may include interstate, and intrastate

Acts as a personal assistant to top executives while in transit; maintains strict confidentiality of passengers, trips, and other details

Coordinates the repaid and maintenance of Aflac's transportation fleet; checks and maintains appropriate levels of gasoline, oil, water, and tire pressure; reports equipment/engine malfunctions and arranges for repairs at designated service stations

Ensures all vehicles are inspected to ensure safety systems and appearance meet departmental guidelines

Ensures the timely and accurate dissemination of information, incentives, rewards, and/or recognition; ensures that appropriate documentation is developed as required by the organization and/or vendor standards and methodology; ensures that a current and historical library is maintained on all department/project activity, system implementation, upgrades and modifications, policies and procedures

Maintain a neat and professional attire and appearance; ensures the interior and exterior of the assigned vehicles are clean and presentable

Assists with the loading and unloading of luggage, packages, or other materials

Delivers minor cargo and provides courier services as required

Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $105,000.
