This is a European role, focused on growing acceptance and business volumes via the rapidly expanding Payment Facilitator channel. Our Payment Facilitator partners operate in a high growth, dynamic environment offering payment facilitation solutions across a number of channels including eCommerce, POS/mPOS and In App. The core responsibilities will be to drive Amex business volume and acceptance by growing Amex spend and penetration within our existing Payment Facilitator Partner portfolio and signing new Payment Facilitator partnerships.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Portfolio management and growth - Establishing relationships with existing Payment Facilitators, working with them to increase our overall share of business volume
- Contract negotiation- Negotiate contracts to maximize the commercial opportunities available, leading partner facing negotiations and developing the negotiation strategy to ensure the best possible outcome for American Express
- Compliance & Regulation - Work to ensure ongoing compliance with European Regulatory framework, American Express Policy and Contractual terms
- Working alongside a wide range of internal stakeholders to manage the day to day relationship with Aggregator Partners, including Risk, Pricing, Servicing, Legal, Compliance, Policy, the global Payment Facilitator Partner team etc
- Subject Matter Expertise - become a reference point for Payment Facilitators within Amex, sharing knowledge within the organization and collaborating where necessary to deliver business objectives that benefit the enterprise

Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent relationship management skills. The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships built on credibility and trust
- A track record of sales and negotiation, ideally with global or multinational customers
- Ability to clearly articulate the American Express merchant value proposition
- Comfortable working in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment. Previous experience in the Payments or Merchant Acquiring industry is a definite advantage
- Industry expertise - demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the European Payment Facilitator and payments landscape and use this knowledge to grow partnerships
- Highly focused on achieving results and delivering against annual targets
- Excellent communications skills; must be comfortable working with stakeholders both within American Express and externally to influence decisions and drive change
- Thought leadership and problem solving skills - much of this role is rapidly changing and evolving, so it requires innovative thinking and the ability to rapidly develop and adapt strategy as circumstances change
- Ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization, sharing knowledge, best practices and collaborating to drive greater alignment and streamlined processes
- Minimum 1-2 years payments industry experience
