We are seeking a Senior Technical PMO Partner to join our Technical PMO team. The primary responsibility is to ensure the successful coordination, governance, and strategic execution of multiple technical initiatives & projects within a portfolio. Collaborate with partners, senior leadership, and tech teams to align ALABs' goals and implement projects. Lead a team of technical project managers, support standard processes, and promote positive change. Outstanding critical thinking, technology knowledge, operational excellence, and project management skills are crucial for achieving successful project outcomes.
Reporting to the Technical PMO Leadership, the Sr Partner, Technical PMO is embedded in the technology team while fulfilling the requirements of the Technical PMO processes and procedures. Join us in improving teams and tools to build a new operational excellence function supporting ALAB's tech leadership.
What You'll Do
Lead and be responsible for a team of technical project managers, ensuring effective prioritisation for strategic, operational, and technology initiatives across the organization, including ALABs.
Lead regular development portfolio/initiative reviews to evaluate project performance, risks, and issues within ALABs.
Coordinate the improvement of organizational change in tech projects for seamless integration of new systems, processes, platforms, and tools with a human-centered approach.
Guide and support project managers in technical practices, process enhancements, and continuous improvement culture.
Contribute to the development and implementation of PMO capabilities, modernizing toolsets, and processes aligned with the PMO framework and methodology (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Smartsheet, etc)
Act as a point of escalation for the project manager team. Handle collaborator expectations, resolve conflicts, and address concerns promptly.
Stay informed about industry trends, AI/ML, cybersecurity, cloud, and advancements in methodologies related to project management, argument development, and organizational change for sophisticated initiatives.
Ensure adherence to technical governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements across projects and ALABs initiatives.
Provide mentorship and career development to project managers, encouraging their growth in project management practices and leadership capabilities.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Software Development, Project Management, or a related field.
8+ years of proven experience, leading technical/strategic project intake, discovery, and change management for multiple initiatives, and overseeing the operational excellence of PMO functions.
PgMP, PMP, CSM, or other industry/role-specific certification for ongoing/continuous learning plan
Proven leadership experience in leading and developing a team of high-performing technical resources/project managers. Lead the hiring and evaluation processes for technical project managers, ensuring alignment with organizational & development goals and project partner/customer needs.
Strong understanding of systems architecture, systems platforms, SDLC processes, and cybersecurity principles.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with collaborators, using negotiation skills to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while balancing contending interests through strategic compromise
Strategic problem solver with analytical skills, aligning operational charter objectives with the business's goals, delivering tangible results, supporting our Technology teams with expertise, and continuous process improvement.
Subject matter authority in project management methodologies, frameworks, and standard processes, with proficiency in both Agile methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and traditional waterfall project management practices and reporting tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and Tempo.
Outstanding communication and social skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with collaborators at all levels cross functionally in all lines of the business.
Ability to run multiple initiatives, projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to empower and inspire cross-functional technical teams and champion a culture of excellence, including familiarity with resource management and capacity planning tools and techniques.
Travel expectation is up to 30%, including international
Preferred Skills and Experience
Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Knowledge of software development workflows, automated deployment processes, and collaborative coding platforms.
Experience in the gaming or entertainment technology sector.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the gaming industry
