Achieve quality control operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, and quality standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing Quality System and HK&S audits; identify system improvements; implement change. Lead continuous improvement initiative to achieve operational excellence. Oversight of the efficient and effective operations of Kilns and serve as site environmental compliance expert. Must collaborate with Operations Team and successfully implement quality systems through influencing and empowers others.
What You Can Expect
Manage the Quality Metrics program by performing routine Quality System and HK&S audits and provide support to the Environmental and Quality Control Manager in ensuring all metrics targets are achieved. Validate quality processes by performing routine quality checks; documenting compliance; writing and updating production ETQ procedures and communicating opportunities to facility production manager and supervisors. Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including non-compliant processes, corrective actions, and re-validations. Maintain Quality integrity by verifying critical control points and preventive measures; assist in establishing critical limits (when required), monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures. Provide support to production management in the investigation, resolution, and implementation of corrective actions for all quality issues. Participate in the training of facility management/team leaders/technicians by providing substantive information critical to continuous improvement. Provide support to the Environmental and Quality Control Manager in managing ETQ Variance/Change Requests. Lead, facilitate and measure Continuous Improvement projects and results. Teach site leaders and employees on continuous improvement methodology. Supports tasks for yard fueling tanks and waste collection/recycling area. Up to date job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality and continuous improvement methodology; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations. Serve a site Environmental Compliance subject matter expert.
We Are Looking For People Who
Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Food science or related area.
5 - 7 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, or R&D.
Experience leading and managing continuous improvement / lean manufacturing projects.
Strong technical and operational understanding of production processes.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to effectively influence others.
Demonstrated ability and understanding of how to use systematic processes and a strategic perspective to investigate and resolve quality issues.
Demonstrated ability to acquire necessary information which supports sound decision making.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical perspectives to peers, management, and others, both verbally and in writing.
Training or experience in statistics, SPC, and data analysis.
What You Can Add To The Team
Technical and Operational experience in the barrel or lumber manufacturing industry.
Quality Management Systems or Continuous Improvement Methodology training/certification.
Relevant professional certifications in quality such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor.
Six Sigma black belt, or equivalent continuous improvement /lean manufacturing certificate
