About the role:

Cisco Meraki is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to develop the next generation of features, services and integrations to improve the lives of our outstanding Support team

You will be joining our growing team of Support-focused developers and you’ll directly feel the positive impact that your projects have on our grateful (and technical) users

You will provide technical expertise, guidance, and standard practices for our team of Salesforce developers

You love using technology to solve business problems. You’re a passionate learner and has a strong track record of building scalable applications using Salesforce technologies and frameworks.

A typical work week might consist of:

Investigating new technologies and deciding which will be a good fit for Meraki, and how best to implement them

Building an impactful team by mentoring Support Software engineers and supporting recruiting efforts to help shape the future of the team

Primary responsibilities

40% Salesforce Development

  • Be the tip of the technological spear for Meraki Support
  • Investigate new technologies, decide which to adopt and how to roll them out
  • Safeguard the organization from unnecessary technical debt
  • Know and decide when to use custom code vs admin-friendly tools to accomplish business goals

40% Team Development

  • As the team lead, your input will be essential in hiring and building a distributed team
  • Insist on a strong test-first team culture and conduct periodic code quality reviews
  • Ensure team is adhering to standard methodologies and build technical feasibility documents
  • Promote empathetic, user-centric design over insular, overly-engineered work

20% Professional Development

  • Stay well-versed in the latest theory and standard methodologies in the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Find the intersection between your personal development interests and our business needs to identify side projects
  • Attend industry meetups, webinars, and conferences
  • Explore new tools and in the field of Support-related software development

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years of enterprise development experience in Salesforce stack
  • Salesforce Apex and/or Java or any object oriented programming experience, SQL and/or Salesforce SOQL
  • Javascript or related frameworks (Ruby, Rails, React..etc)
  • Salesforce Lightning Web Components
  • Salesforce Communities
  • Excellent knowledge of third party applications and platform integrations.
  • Experience with various Salesforce deployment pipelines like ANT, Copado, Salesforce DX
  • Work collaboratively with Product, UX, Support, Engineering, etc to deliver new or improve product features
  • Prior experience with Support or Service organizations is also a plus
  • Prior experience with products like MuleSoft, Tableau is a plus
  • Experience with current software development lifecycles and practices
  • Agile-aligned methodologies (Scaled Agile, Kanban, etc.), continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), Git-based Version Control Systems (VCS)
  • Relevant Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead badges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field

Compensation Range:
$115,200$222,200 USD

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
