As a technical leader on a motivated new team, you will have the rewarding opportunity to shape the technical direction of Cisco Meraki's mobile platform for millions of users worldwide. You will be a hands-on contributor who will operate with minimal direction and influence key design decisions. You will work closely with highly skilled and collaborative engineers and product managers to identify, architect, and develop new high impact features and backend services with a focus on growing the value of our smart camera and IoT sensor experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead sophisticated technology initiatives including those that are company wide with broad impact.
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
- Self-manage project priorities and results.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
- Build differentiating mobile technology for smart cameras and sensors.
- Collaborate and influence key decisions within the Meraki dev ecosystem (hardware, firmware, and cloud).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Expertise in full stack software development from 7 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, education.
- 2 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- One of:
- Expertise in React, React Native or similar technologies.
- Expertise in Ruby on Rails backend development.
PREFERRED:
- 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 2 years of experience working on cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
- 2 years experience working on camera or IoT products.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
