SRE Tech Lead - Platform Engineering - Core Cloud Services

Meraki's Platform Engineering SRE organization builds and scales Meraki's Infrastructure and Platforms that support all of our customers and their networks, handling over 4 billion HTTP requests per day, as well as providing the toolchains and workflows that strive to provide seamless access to it. We seek to automate away tedious tasks and build infrastructure as code. We prioritize the need of our internal customers by solving problems with a product mentality.
In this role, you're going to have the unique opportunity to architect, build and support the Core services that support our hybrid cloud, as well as be part of a key position to provide standardized access to our Platform as a Service product. You'll be encouraged to be a role model for junior engineers and facilitate the technical work for other team members.
- Define, deploy and run standardized IaC interfaces that enable people to consume services in a Hybrid cloud environment.
- Influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability and high performance for the Core Services and tools supporting our cloud (Ansible, Terraform, Airflow, DNS, Netbox, Service Discovery, etc).
- Build end-to-end documentation and instrumentation of our platform to ensure visibility, automation, self-healing and resiliency throughout the stack.
- Collaborate with other specialists on the team to cultivate validated engineering principles and represent our engineering values.
- As a senior member of the team, you'll use both technical and relational skills to lead large-scale projects to completion.
- Take part in an on-call rotation.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Experience leading design, deployment and operation of large technical projects - mainly working with cloud systems, IaC, distributed systems, or data processing frameworks (ETL pipelines).
- Being curious, able to learn fast and feel comfortable diving into unfamiliar code and systems to solve problems.
- Drive projects with a product-oriented mindset and tackle problems by focusing on internal customers' needs.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
