About the team
The Merchandise team at Coles plays a critical role and pride themselves on building sustainable long term supplier relationships, developing new range offers and ideas, and working on convenient, healthy solutions.
You’ll find us working across all business units at Coles Supermarkets, Liquor and Express. Supermarkets is one of the largest teams at Coles, but we’re a close-knit group that come from all over the world. We’re passionate about working at the forefront of merchandising and making sure our customers have quality products at the right price.
About the role
In this 12-month fixed term opportunity you will work closely with and report into the Group Responsible Sourcing Manager to help deliver our Own Brand Responsible Sourcing strategy. You will provide specialist technical advice in relation to the sourcing of Own Brand products with high impact commodities such as coffee, tea, cocoa, timber, pulp and paper, working across a varied stakeholder group. You will also:
- Develop, deliver, and manage policies, guidelines, and technical tools to support Brand Standards
- Manage the implementation of varied programs and projects
- Strategically influence stakeholders including Government, NGOs, and other key stakeholders to drive positive change
- Coordinate and provide monthly & quarterly reports for various audiences which will include Board reports, Coles Sustainability Reports, and investor reports
About you and your skills
We are looking for someone who has proven project management experience and an understanding of environmental impacts in relation to product sourcing. Developed communication and writing skills would be a must for the success in this role.
You’ll also need:
- Proven experience in internal and external communications
- Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills
- Previous project or stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate and adapt in a fast-paced culture of change
- Creative style with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment
- Strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment
- Ability to work in an agile, fast paced, complex environment
