What will your typical day look like?
The SAP - Payroll Officer is responsible for processing payroll and ensuring compliance with government regulations, providing payroll support services to customers/businesses. They will work closely as part of a broader team of Payroll specialists and will be involved in providing high quality End to End Payroll Services to various clients.
Key accountabilities:
- Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
- Reconciliation and balancing of payroll processing to costing, banking, and superannuation
- Ensure compliance with legislative payroll requirements
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information
- Legislative reporting – STP, Month End
- Resolving payroll discrepancies
- Troubleshooting unexpected payroll results
- Answering payroll queries and investigating issues as required
- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Enhancing procedures and documents as required
- Utilise existing business intelligence reports as needed

You are someone who has experience in payroll processing and client relationship management
- 2+ years of experience in E2E payroll processing in a major payroll system (SAP preferred)
- Data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ideally you will have experience in an integrated HR/Payroll system (including management and troubleshooting of interfaces between systems)
- Excellent at prioritising multiple tasks, managing conflicting deadlines and working effectively in a dynamic environment
- Experience as an outsourced payroll processing provider is desirable but not essential
- Ability to effectively manage expectations and competing priorities
- Enjoy investigating payroll errors and working with a team of payroll specialists to identify root cause
- Understands when to escalate
- A solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- A high degree of professionalism and discretion
