We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Sydney, Australia.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide sub regional leadership for Facilities Management and Sustainability. The position will develop and implement the FM & Sustainability strategy and program. With approx. 1.5msqm of managed real estate, FM & Sustainability has fundamental and significant role in the business.
This role will lead the FM site transition from business unit to CRE.Provide expert knowledge, review design, guidelines and implement global standards at a regional level in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies. Provide guidance and recommendations to the country heads, project managers on new builds to foster efficient practices and behaviors throughout CRE.
Meeting global initiatives and objectives to achieve savings while contributing to environmental protection. It will foster energy efficient practices and behaviors throughout the CRE Oceania to further advance the CRE footprint.
Your tasks:
Sustainability
- Responsible for managing the effective and efficient utilization of energy resources to provide quality indoor environments. Responsible for establishing & communicating the standards and goals for the development, operation, and maintenance of the DPDHL’s facilities as well as Building Environmental Systems.
- Provides strategic and technical leadership in the areas of asset, energy and sustainability management and related standard operating procedures, predictive maintenance procedures, capital planning, customer service & service level agreements and the development and review of performance criteria for 3rd party service providers.
- Lead CRE FM Oceania efforts of FM, Asset, Energy and Sustainability management including standardization, technical leadership and enhancing the performance of all related facility management services. Work with various CRE department leads to incorporate sustainability practices and set conservation and environmental goals. Set guidelines or benchmarks for CRE’s Facilities environmental impact.
- Responsible for working with the CRE team and businesses to implement new technologies, identify cost savings opportunities, manage initiatives and identify opportunities related to energy procurement and energy-related capital projects. Identify and prioritize initiatives based on an evaluation of their life cycle cost and/ or ability to enhance Corporate reputation.
- Responsible for engaging with Oceania FM teams to identify and implement sustainable products, processes, best practices and technologies, to support CRE’s goals of reducing energy and water consumption, improving asset lifecycle management and for managing the environmental impact of the real estate portfolio.
- Provides asset, energy and sustainability input to new construction and other capital projects. Work with project management and leasing teams to ensure the implementation of life cycle cost evaluation approaches which explicitly include maintenance, energy and sustainability considerations.
- Carries out assignments requiring comprehensive knowledge related to asset lifecycle management, energy efficiency, and renewable/carbon offsets.
- Communicates past, present and future energy plans and performance through formal presentations to CRE Management, Employees and Business Units.
- Identify inefficiencies or areas where the company can improve their environmental impact.
- Write reports detailing results of evaluations and present them to management, along with recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure CRE’s compliance with all country, state and federal environmental statutes and regulations.
- Lead training sessions or workshops on sustainability practices.
Facilities Management
- Lead the FM function for the Oceania region
- Ability to participate in certification of buildings to Energy Star rating.
- Implementation of facilities management services and processes to ensure most suitable working environment is attained for employees and their activities and ensure general upkeep and maintenance of buildings so that they meet health and safety standards and legal requirements while managing the budgets and keeping records of all payments
- Support implementation of facilities management plans and processes for essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling
- Apply best practices to ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation to keep staff safe
- Support implementation of appropriate plans for best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organizing of current premises
- Provide input to prepare documents to put out tenders for contractors
- Coordinate and ensure the work of contractors
- Explore the availability and suitability of options for new premises
- Apply best practices to plan deliverables for future development in line with strategic business objectives
- Execute research to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
- Monitor day to day work progress as agreed by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and lookout for any deficiencies
- Support implementation of process improvement and performance management techniques to monitor achievement of agreed service levels
- Track project and advice on urgent issues and escalations
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification preferably in Engineering, Faculties Management, Property, Real Estate, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business or related field. MBA is a plus in Sustainability and Environmental Compliance Degree preferred.
- 10 years of relevant experience of management, in a sustainability or related sector with operations experience.
