The role:
Located from the E-Gate Infrastructure Depot, Docklands, the Signals Production Manager exists to provide technical expertise across maintenance, renewals, upgrades and construction works that fall under their area of expertise. The successful applicant will support the delivery of works by assisting with planning, project management, work methodology and implementation of works on site to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and complies with design specifications.
Main duties:
- Critical examination of work practices to identify problems and initiate/develop alternative work procedures to improve quality, safety and efficiency
- Design work tasks and resources to maximise time on tools and the output of the teams
- Ensure adequate resources and equipment is available for all works including emergency conditions to restore services within critical timeframes
- Ensure all information systems used by subordinates are effective in terms of timely and correct information input and address any non-conformances
- Ensure correct tools and equipment are appropriately audited, certified, maintained and utilised for work and all equipment, materials and emergency items are assembled and accessible on the job
- Implement Infrastructure maintenance, renewals, upgrades and construction requirements and installation methods
- Manage additional contract resources in order to deliver works including requisition, procurement, cost analysis in line with budget, performance, safety and quality in accordance with Metro’s contractor management procedures.
- Lead and drive performance and accountability through daily visualisation meetings
Education, skills and experience:
- Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure - desirable
- Certificate IV in Front-Line Management – desirable
- Associate Diploma of Engineering or equivalent qualification – desirable
- Experience within the rail industry – desirable
- Extensive experience in leading and supervising a team – mandatory
- Sound knowledge of the safety requirements of working in the rail and/or maintenance industry, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Codes of Practice, regulations, safe working
