The Enterprise Functions team is part of Microsoft’s Industry Solutions organization. This team combines the experience and understanding we have gained in our own journey at Microsoft using and delivering digital technology with the strength of our global partners - enabling enterprise organizations to achieve more.
To support these efforts, Enterprise Functions are hiring a Chief Technology Officer. This position will have three primary responsibilities: Lead executive level technology conversations to understand the digital transformation goals and challenges of our customers and global partners; leverage experience across multiple industries and technologies to guide customers from a broad agreement to partner with Microsoft to a specific program of work in support of specific outcomes and measurable success criteria; evangelize Microsoft’s unique value proposition and differentiation across focus industries and initiatives to positively influence and support marketing, partner, engineering, sales and other relevant stakeholders.
A successful candidate will have a unique combination of industry experience, broad/deep technology expertise – from microservices, data, and AI to productivity, business, and citizen developer applications – while showing a proven record of being inventive, comfortable working in ambiguous, complex environments, and adept at managing large enterprise customers, analysts, partners, and other key audiences. You must demonstrate strong consultative leadership, be flexible, able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities
- Be the leading voice on cross-industry and domain-specific digital transformation for our global consulting organization
- Model Microsoft's technology vision and act as role model, while developing strategies to extend Microsoft Cloud into all market segments to achieve customer and partner transformation goals
- Inspire leaders of state and enterprise, regulators, and customers on how best to leverage innovation to drive digital transformation
- Act as an evangelist who inspires internal audiences through clarity of message and setting of best practices
Strategic Solution Development
- Engage at the executive level in customers and Microsoft to understand ambitions, goals and existing digital transformation strategies
- Use experience cross-industry and in functional domains to help the team identify new validated use cases to incubate new solutions which shape customer ambitions and identify pathways towards greater impact across environmental, societal and economic environments
- Lead cross disciplinary teams to incubate key cross industry solutions working with engineering groups, Industry Solutions teams, and partners\ISV solutions.
- Develop reference architectures
- Support sales, marketing, partner, and other stakeholder teams by providing guidance and expertise around Microsoft cross industry initiatives and solutions
- Develop IP and readiness content to build sales and delivery capabilities around cross industry initiatives and offerings
Internal Collaboration
- Establish and maintain an internal network of resources to assist in solving customer challenges
- Engage across product engineering groups to align customer objectives with product roadmaps and influence future product direction
- Participate in intra-group and/or cross-group projects and ensures accountability by leveraging project management approaches.
- Escalate intra- and cross-group misalignment as needed.
- Track relevant solutions being developed across different Industry Solutions teams to harvest IP and develop offerings.
- Proactively collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders across functions to ensure a mutual understanding and alignment of objectives, priorities, and resources
Representing Microsoft
- Communicate Microsoft’s technology perspective on key cross-industry solutions and initiatives
- Understand and applies detailed knowledge of Microsoft strategies to drive results and customer outcomes.
- Develop recommendations for how customers can use Microsoft technology to solve societal issues and create opportunities
- Participate in large internal and external events to advocate for Microsoft’s ability to help enterprise customers with their digital transformation goals

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years’ experience leading strategy and delivering solutions for multiple industries and/or solution domains
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 6+ years’ experience leading strategy and delivering solutions for multiple industries and/or solution domains
- OR equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, incubation, driving change in a large company, entrepreneurship, management consulting).
- 2+ years’ experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.
- 2+ years people management experience.
- 8+ years’ experience engaging at C-level suite including CXO, CTO/CIO level; leadership of Global ISV, GSI, and technology partners; Analyst Leadership
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 15+ years’ experience leading strategy and delivering solutions for multiple industries and/or solution domains
- OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 12+ years’ experience leading strategy and delivering solutions for multiple industries and/or solution domains
- OR equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, incubation, driving change in a large company, entrepreneurship).
- 6+ years’ experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.
- 5+ years people management experience.
- Combined Industry &Technology background with passion for data
- Depth of experience building solutions for and going to market in multiple industries
- Understand and can effectively communicate technology concepts ranging from microservices, data, and AI, to business applications (customer facing, operations, supply chain), citizen development and more
- Understand cloud economics, as well as the cultural imperatives of digital transformation
- Understand the compete environment across the above areas as well as strong experience in Microsoft and other channels
- Shipped multiple far reaching products involving hardware and software integration

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $171,600 and $258,200
At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
