The Xbox Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is looking for a collaborative software engineer who is passionate about graphics, gaming technologies and the game developer experience. Come join us in our journey to help empower game developers to realize their dreams on Microsoft gaming platforms.

As part of the ATG team, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with game developers and Xbox platform teams to help ensure games look stunning and run smoothly. The ATG team strives to understand the technological challenges, motivations, and goals of game developers, and works across our platform and the industry to create solutions, enhance and advance game technology, and improve the developer experience across Microsoft’s gaming platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with game teams of diverse and talented peers across various disciplines to solve technical problems
  • Participate in graphics performance analysis and provide optimization guidance
  • Collaborate across teams to drive change on behalf of developer needs
  • Research and incubate innovative ideas to advance the Microsoft gaming environment

Qualifications

  • Passion for graphics, games and technology
  • 3+ years of professional development experience in C/C++
  • Some experience with Direct3D and HLSL
  • Strong creative problem solving and algorithm development skills
  • Comfortable investigating and debugging code
  • Self-motivated with strong passion for continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Xbox development
  • Familiarity with PIX, or other performance investigation tools
  • Worked on one or more projects
  • Experience with modern game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or equivalent
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
