Global Treasury Financial Services (GTFS) support the digital transformation journey of Microsoft’s customers, partners & vendors by providing competitive credit and payment solutions to support revenue growth while managing credit risk. We are a compliance first organization with customer obsession and deal economics focus. We support $130B+ in trade receivables and $11B+ in payment solutions per year in global markets.
This position will be based in Redmond, Atlanta, or Reno and will have accountability for managing Credit Risk, while supporting revenue growth and protecting the company from financial and business risks. This will be a key role that will partner with GTFS stakeholders, including Infrastructure and Applications, Deal Execution and Collections in implementation of Microsoft credit risk policies and creating avenues to maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
Prioritize
- Perform analysis and research of present and future customer financial performance.
- Leverage technology in automating processes for optimized risk experience.
- Develop and leverage relationships with key stakeholders to enable customer focused financing solutions that mitigate Microsoft’s business risk.
- Design and negotiate solutions to complex financial issues with customers.
Partnership
- Provide business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to support revenue growth in a compliant manner.
- Manages and execute processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with business leaders to define action plans for financial and business analysis findings
- Develops and manage strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks
- Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, and drives improvements in efficiency and accuracy
Protect
- Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and business processes; drives corrective measures. Consults with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments and processes, and consistency with corporate policies. Collaborates with Compliance groups to ensure the team is current on company policies and procedures
In this role, the candidate is expected to operate along the following pillars:
- Credit Risk Management – Leverage technology in managing credit risk, performing analysis, building risk models and building credit solutions for capacity restraint situations.
- Business Process Excellence – Drive continuous process efficiency, reduce cycle time, and ensure 100% compliance. Proactively seek to leverage technology to automate and build in compliant process.
- Portfolio Ownership – Overall credit risk accountability of providing support, direction, and leadership for portfolio of trade AR and financing receivables.
- Customer Relationship Management – Understanding customer credit capacity needs; drive and support customer satisfaction initiatives, address customer and stakeholder queries, and represent Microsoft positively.
- Partnership – this role has a significant partnership component. The role will partner with the internal GFS teams including Deal Execution and Field Support, Customer Advocacy, Readiness, Infrastructure and if required engage with Sales Team, Finance, Sales Excellence, Operations, Tax, Legal, and Treasury.
- Cross-Boundary Collaboration – participate in projects and drive engagement with peers in the Global Credit Services organization.
- Run management – provide business leader support and actionable insights during financial close periods. Responsible for approving transactions like write offs, Collectability Reserve, Payment plans and restructuring, credit term extensions etc.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of credit risk modelling, Machine learning, process automation
- High degree of knowledge in Credit Risk Management, Financing, Financial Analysis, Financial Modelling
- High-level of accountability, detail oriented, integrity, self-confidence, diversity promotion,
- Excellent cross-group collaboration skills, including the ability to comfortably communicate with senior management at Microsoft.
- Motivated self-starter who can clearly identify and articulate customer value.
