This Finance Manager role is part of the Business Enablement finance team that supports some of Microsoft’s most exciting and emerging businesses, including Azure, Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, Experience and Devices, Productivity, and all the cloud infrastructure that runs them.
This position reports into the Program & Statutory Enablement Team that leads in driving enablement of Financial Accounting and Operations for new, non-standard and complex product offerings and deals and Statutory Controllership and enablement for cloud data centers, with a focus of enabling Microsoft to operationalize in an efficient, scalable, and compliant manner. This position partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Business Development, Engineering and Compliance teams to support onboarding of new programs, product launches and deals as the businesses continue to enter into new launch initiatives, strategic partnerships and shift to the cloud. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to drive enablement, optimization and scalability for future growth.
Responsibilities
- Drive successful onboarding of new, non-standard and complex business programs, product launches and deals in the market
- Work with business partners to analyze and determine the appropriate accounting and scalable financial operations of programs, launches and deals
- Ensure non-standard launches and deals are operationalized in accordance with MS Policies, GAAP and SOX
- Problem solve and support investigation and resolution of launch or deal issues
- Finance lead, liaison and FinOps SME for other cross-functional teams
- Assist with process improvements, efficiencies and discipline across launch and deal management
- Business partner across various teams including: Finance, Accounting, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Compliance and other partners
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the online services and/or technology industries.
- Strong cross-functional partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Ability to understand the big picture as well as have an outstanding attention to the underlying details.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written), including an ability to communicate effectively with external partners and senior management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects with tight timelines.
- Ability to thrive in a fluid and ambiguous environment where everything is not fully defined.
- Project management experience and demonstrated ability to lead meetings, influence and drive impact.
- High level of self-motivation. Ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done.
