The HR Business Insights (HRBI) team is hiring. We are seeking a Sr. HR Data Analyst. Our team drives data-based decisions to tackle strategic challenges and opportunities at Microsoft. We partner with HR Leaders and Business Leaders to help shape the workforce of the future. Our team advises HR through data-based insights and compelling storytelling to achieve business objectives and people priorities, enables deep insights for the HR partners supporting key people and organization decisions and initiatives, and partners to grow data capability and enable modern data solutions that increase HR’s impact through leveraging data.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and capable of juggling multiple initiatives simultaneously often with short time constraints. They can flex and reprioritize to adjust to changing business conditions. They have a background working with BI tools, developing visualizations and effective story telling using data and insights.

Responsibilities
- Design scalable analytical approach, and deliver company-wide insights using data, visualizations, and effective storytelling techniques for senior-level clients.
- Translate findings into succinct, actionable business insights, often in coordination with partners who help you tell a holistic story.
- Apply a breadth of scalable tools and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact people-related business questions.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
- Educate clients on self-service solutions.
- Effectively contract and communicate with customers, partners, and co-workers
- Stay connected with product groups while being knowledgeable about latest capabilities, features and technology updates on the product roadmap. Come up with creative ways to incorporate relevant features in reporting solutions.
- Lead projects ranging from ad-hoc business analysis to driving infrastructure requirements to enable proper data collection, manipulation, and reporting.
- Break through communication issues and effectively develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to define deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles OR Master’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles OR Master’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in business analytics, human resources, or other business-related roles.
- 3+ years storytelling with data.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with BI tools (Excel, Power Pivot, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.).
- 3+ years working in or supporting HR.
The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $119,200 and $178,800.
At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
