The Microsoft Brand Studio is looking for a design-savvy Senior Creative Director with deep experience in systems thinking to join our growing team—and unleash their passion for brand on everything we make and do.

As Senior Creative Director, Brand Expression, you will be responsible for helping us propel our creative transformation forward by developing the systems to support it. You’ll inspire a growing team of creatives to create and ignite stunning visual identity elements that are alive with emotion; you’ll collaborate wildly with cross-functional teams and world-class agency partners; you’ll evangelize our work and empower teams across Microsoft to achieve brand excellence; and help shape the future of brand design and expression at Microsoft.

Creative leadership
- Drive the vision for where our brand needs to be creatively and experientially
- Facilitate clarity, create alignment and be an example of One Microsoft
- Be a trusted advisor on brand experience, product experience, and creative strategy
- Amplify and enrich company storytelling and narratives
- Help build an outstanding reputation for our team, internally and externally
- Speak, internally and externally, about Microsoft's creative strategies
- Foster innovation through a design-thinking approach to problem solving
- Nurture a "what if" and "why not" ethos
Team Leadership
- Care about our people, their creative aspirations, and their growth
- Manage and train creative staff at all levels

Qualifications
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in brand-building and design with 10+ years of experience building, managing and nurturing creative teams
- Strong creative problem-solving skills
- Effective creative management, including assigning priorities, balancing workloads and resourcing
- Ability to create clarity with creative briefings while allowing space for experimentation
- Strong Command of design tools and methods
- Compelling presentation and consensus building skills
- Ability to coach colleagues by listening to them, leveraging their strengths, and sharing praise
Have a proven ability to translate business goals and brand strategy into creative expression across a broad range of touchpoints, audiences and channels.
Have a rich and dynamic portfolio you can share that showcases your abilities.
Preferred Experience
- BFA/BS/BA, Graphic Design, Product Design or equivalent design degree preferred
- Have prior experience in a Creative Director role for a brand agency or inhouse team—leading the development and implementation of robust visual identity systems.
