The Microsoft Global Media Team is responsible for planning, activating and fiscally managing all media spend across Microsoft. The team works across a broad group internal Microsoft product and business groups, driving business impact by leading the development of innovative and world-class paid media strategies designed to meet our stakeholders’ unique business goals. The team’s responsibilities extend to driving market intelligence and contributing to Microsoft’s media innovation across media channels and ad tech.

We are seeking a curious and passionate performance media professional to join the Global Media team managing the team responsible for creating the strategy, planning, and execution of our performance (LTV:CAC) and social campaigns for our diverse set of stakeholders. Media Strategy
- Develops, oversees, and introduces business context into the implementation of the global media strategic approach (for relevant line[s] of business) that is grounded in consumer insight, supported by data, manages across the consumer journey, and is built to deliver against campaign goals. Ensures direction aligns with thought leadership, industry, and business standards. Shares holistic ideas based on cross-campaign experience. Drives the evolution of media briefs that align with media strategy.
- Collaborates with internal partners (e.g., Privacy and Compliance, Product Marketing) and external partners (e.g., agencies) to conduct audience research using appropriate first, second-, or third-party data. Rationalizes audience with relation to budget and goals.
- Builds partnerships with third-party agencies to drive development of media plan documentation that identifies optimal efficiency across partners, cost, and audience. Oversees the development of go-to-market approaches for media plans, including media mix and publishers to reach an audience (e.g., Twitch, YouTube). Oversees and assists other media professionals in presenting media plans to key stakeholders, including senior management.
- Oversees global media plan activation, execution, and optimization across all digital performance media types. Manages campaigns, projects, and programs across Media professionals in Redmond and globally. Drives agreement between all internal parties involved on acceptable campaign launch dates and execution timelines. Oversees cross-campaign global media coordination.
Financial Accountability
- Ensures global management to approved budget. Ensures all commissions, rates, and cost-per-thousand impressions (CPMs) are in-line with industry and Microsoft benchmarks. Leads regional continued budget management. Oversees adherence to a seamless approach to a full customer journey across funding sources. Ensures adequate proof of execution (POE) is provided. Develops media forecasts that will deliver upon business revenue projections.
Relationship Management
- Maintains key existing relationships and develops relationships with business decision-makers. Provides relationship guidance to more junior media team members. Navigates escalations. Works with internal agency management to development full fiscal year team structure planning (e.g., resources needed, specialties).
- Builds and develops media agency relationships based on feedback. Works with external agency management to develop full fiscal year team structure planning (e.g., resources needed, specialties) Supports joint accountability for media agency relationships, representing the broader needs of Microsoft.
Thought Leadership
- Develops and contributes to the continued evolution of media market and media best practices with a cross-channel and/or global perspective. Keeps up to date on media trends and developments and gives Microsoft a voice in the broader industry. Encourages and facilitates the sharing of new and innovative ideas. Aligns Microsoft's mission, business objectives, and industry trends to communicate how media innovations impact and evolve broader business goals.
Media Operations
- Refines and optimizes media models. Articulates the benefits of media models to internal and external partners.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 6+ years experience in media, marketing, or advertising on the client or agency side
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in media, marketing, or advertising on the client or agency side.
- 10+ years experience working across offline paid media channels (e.g., broadcast TV, cinema, print, audio, out of home [OOH]).
- 10+ years experience working across digital media channels (e.g., pay-per-lead, social, SEM, programmatic buying, addressable TV).
- 10+ years experience using data-driven media tactics, including advanced targeting models, measurement and learning plans, making optimizations based on data.
- 10+ years experience managing projects (e.g., communications, internal stakeholder management timelines, prioritization, road mapping).
- 10+ years experience search engine marketing campaigns (e.g., keyword governance, ad copy creation, audience targeting).
- 10+ years experience paid social experience (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube).
