The Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (CFP&A) team’s mission is to enable decisions to create sustainable shareholder value. Our team is at the hub of Microsoft's financial processes and insights, being a key strategic partner to all sides of the business and serving a diverse set of stakeholders: CFOs, Senior Leadership Team, engineering groups, and sales and marketing teams. Our team is responsible for partnering across the company's finance teams to manage financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes to drive strategic decisions. Our stakeholders include the Board of Directors, shareholders/Wall Street, Senior Leadership (CEO, CFO, and Executive VPs), Finance Leadership (Division/Engineering Group CFOs and Corporate Controllers) and finance teams across the company.
The Core CFP&A Team is looking for a highly motivated, experienced, self-starting Finance Manager, who is passionate about creating close partnerships and utilizing their knowledge of financial processes, data, and tools to improve the user experience for their business partners. This role will collaborate with sales, marketing, services, and engineering finance teams to assess the impact of incorporating new business drivers, business models, key performance indicators, non-financial disclosures, and other financial analysis and reporting requirements into existing and new systems and processes. This role will also partner closely with tool teams across multiple areas of the company to improve the financial planning and analysis experience for our stakeholders. This Finance Manager will be responsible for managing projects to drive accountability on timelines/deliverables and influencing outcomes that optimize data management, planning, and forecasting to align with business objectives and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Core job responsibilities include:
- Gain end-to-end understanding of financial processes, tools, and data flow
- Understand roles across finance, accounting, engineering, services, etc that are part of end-to-end business processes
- Proactive partnership w/ the business to understand their roadmaps, planning/forecasting processes, external/ internal reporting needs
- Understand how business stakeholders use master data and their pain points
- Influence data management setup to ensure master data and hierarchies are created accurately the first time
- Become a trusted advisor to stakeholders; help define and implement effective data structures and system enhancements
- Increase collaboration, awareness, transparency across business groups
- Enable better decision making with simplified, standard, repeatable processes and clear measurements of success
- Identify process improvements and drive change management to ensure Finance can influence and drive better business decisions.
- Proven ability to project-manage multiple projects seamlessly and effectively.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple groups, responsive with strong customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated strength in process and project management
- Detail oriented & thorough, with the ability to think “big picture”
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects/priorities, excel in an ambiguous environment, and reprioritize as necessary to align with current business objectives
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills preferred (ie: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
- MBA preferred.
- Familiarity / experience with core Microsoft financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting processes strongly preferred
