The Tech for Social Impact Team is chartered with the mission of bringing the power of technology to every nonprofit and humanitarian organization to accelerate Social Good. This organization will bring together our donation and grants programs, industry solutions, commercial sales efforts and partner ecosystems to empower non-profits globally to address the world’s most pressing needs. Profits generated from this business will be reapplied to scaling operations and investments for Microsoft’s public good investments. Responsibilities

As Business Manager for the Tech for Social Impact team, you’ll be chartered with managing field and organizational enablement for the organization including managing hiring processes, incentive compensation alignment, learning and onboarding for employees, and defining role excellence guides. You’ll have ownership of creating and scaling nonprofit industry training currulum to help sellers and partners better understand and sell to nonprofit organizations and their leaders.

You’ll work closely with the Vice President of the Tech for Social Impact organization to manage the rhythm of the business and drive activities and motions to respond to employee feedback in the Microsoft Signals poll to ensure a strong organizational culture. Business Operations

  • Partner with business strategy and operations on people planning and processes as part of fiscal year planning cycle.
  • Ensures internal continuation of business operations during all times, including periods of change or special circumstances. Contributes to finding workable solutions to business problems.
  • Communicates business continuity plans with Microsoft corporate Crisis Management, Business Continuity teams, and with partners.

Maximizing/ Extending the Leader

  • Leverages knowledge of the leader's goals and approach to ensure team activities are aligned with the leader's objectives.
  • Supports the leader in communicating key goals, priorities, and definitions through key rhythm of the business motions such as leadership team meetings, All Hands, Quarterly Business Updates (QBUs), and meetings with cross-company executives.
  • Maximizes a culture to support and represent the leader and team.

Organizational Health

  • Monitors team/organization health and supports the leader in responding to team culture issues, as well as promoting culture initatives (e.g., Diversity and Inclusion [D&I], hiring, onboarding) while partnering with Human Resources to do so. In partnership with Human Resources, tracks Microsoft Poll responses and assists with a response.
  • Tracks the use of role-based compliance trainings and new trainings; drives the training completion rates. Plans and executes on trainings.
  • Ensures a healthy compliance scorecard for the team/organization.
  • Orchestrates and manages Tech for Social Impact’s end-to-end recruiting motion, inclusive of managing the organization’s blueprint, generating the proper taxonomies for organizational growth, managing the hiring process, and orchestrating role and compensation and alignment updates.
  • Supports the landing of organizational changes including building out incentive compensation plans, learning and development pathways, role guide and readiness roadmaps to ensure Tech for Social Impact’s organizational structure aligns to the goals of the organization and the company at large.
  • Participates in the annual fiscal year planning process with counterparts across the company to ensure alignment.

Special Projects/Programs and Initiatives

  • Manages and scales Nonprofit University, a nonprofit industry training program built to help sellers and partners better understand how nonprofits work, how to target key decision makers, and have discussions about the Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit.
  • Opportunity to develop and scale content to specific roles and build out special topics to complement existing Microsoft industry and MCEM training.
  • Contributes to cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage business needs.
  • Engages in well-defined projects/programs while executing aspects of projects/programs for larger areas, including work on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience which may be across multiple disciplines.

Specialty Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of content for internal communication.
  • Partners and leads communications team to land internal and/or external content including win wires and monthly newsletters.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related role
    • OR equivalent experience.
