Over a billion devices run Windows, as well as millions of servers on-prem and in the cloud – and they all have to be kept up to date. It’s essential that we make this experience as reliable and smooth as possible to minimize downtime for users, across a variety of device types, and categories of software. Our team creates and maintains deployment solutions that update every Windows device on the planet to the latest version, be it larger feature updates or monthly security updates. We also enable OEMs to efficiently deploy Windows on new devices and we enable Enterprise IT admins, server data center admins, and the Azure cloud itself to effectively deploy Windows & Windows Server. Reducing install time and reducing update download size while increasing customer satisfaction is our primary focus and passion.

Responsibilities

Customer-facing solutions for managing software packages, payload and updates for the next generation of devices and re-think the update model to be as fast, reliable, and worry-free. Our tech stack is primarily C++, with Rust as a growing share for new components. You'll get a chance to work with engineers from across the org, building new products or trying to build a deployment model for their feature, and get a unique perspective into the product lifecycle from initial stages to post-release. In this role, you will be expected to take point on technical discussions and collaborate on scenarios across teams, sometimes in unfamiliar domains. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in software design
  • Good communication, collaboration, design and planning skills
  • Technical problem-solving skills and willingness to learn proactively
  • Technical written and verbal communications skills
  • Great collaboration and communication skills
  • Great problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with C/C++ or RUST development
