Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or Direct Bill.
  • Accounts Receivable functions:

Responsible for collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, and referring accounts to collection agencies.

  • Accounts Payable functions:

Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports.

Responsible for preparing accounts payable register and related reports.

  • Direct Bill functions:

Responsible for billing information, account reconciliation, and billing problem resolution to internal and external customers involving multiple lines of insurance.

  • Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management. Ensures new members of the team receive proper training.
  • Ensures that the team meets performance targets.
  • Manages relationship with other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Field of Study: Business, Accounting or a related discipline.

Experience: 5 to 7 years of related experience, including 1 to 3 years of leadership experience. Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred.
