National Interstate and Vanliner’s Graduate Development Program, Ignition
Ignition, National Interstate’s Graduate Development Program, is a month-long cohort that equips recent graduates with a comprehensive understanding of our business through a blend of instructor-led, self-paced, and hands-on training. Participants gain a strong understanding of our business model, value proposition, and how individual roles impact the organization while becoming immersed in our company culture. Through expert-led sessions, this program explores cross-functional areas, develops key professional skills, and strengthens relationships through team-building and social activities.
The program is taking place in June 2026. The role will be expected to work in the Richfield, Ohio office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Build strong customer relationships through onboarding, education, and regular account touchpoints to drive engagement and success.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions.
- Deadline-driven and able to independently manage multiple priorities effectively
- Serves as the secondary advocate for customer needs and issues related to simple to moderately complex accounts or group of accounts. May serve as primary contact on less complex accounts.
- Maintains an understanding of client requests, priorities, and needs to drive overall customer satisfaction.
- Shares responsibility for ensuring product and/or services are implemented and delivered on time and meet client requirements in terms of schedule, risks, scope, and budget.
- Advocates for customers’ needs by ensuring that internal resources maintain a clear understanding of the client's requests, priorities, and needs to drive customer satisfaction.
- Assists Business Development, Marketing, Underwriting, Claims, Loss Control, etc. in addressing account-related concerns. Addresses client inquiries related to billing, legal matters, financial impact, and special handling instructions.
- Assists Business Development, Marketing, and Underwriting in retaining and renewing accounts.
- Develops client relationships to support business growth and coordinates introductions to Business Development, Marketing, or Underwriting departments to prospect new business. Assists with identifying potential new products/services for existing customers.
- Assists with preparing materials for new prospect marketing presentations and capabilities presentations.
- May assist with compiling data and preparing reports that track open issues, service levels, and product/service effectiveness.
- Develops product and customers’ business knowledge to enhance overall account management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: No prior work experience is required.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Familiar with account and client management principles and practices. Works on assignments of low to moderate technical complexity. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Uses communication skills to build and leverage effective customer relationships and to explain/promote products and services. Foundational analytical skills and attention to detail. Requires occasional day and overnight travel.
