This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility a few days a week.
Intern will work under the direction of various tax professionals to assist in tax compliance and various other projects. The intern responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with the preparation of federal and state tax returns, assembly of various tax documents, preparation of supportive work papers and working with tax software. Preference for someone from the Chicago/NW Indiana area, as housing is not provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and supporting work papers
- Learn to utilize tax software application
- Assist with various other Tax Department projects
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
- College student pursuing a BA/BS or Masters in Accounting, or related business discipline
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical ability along with the ability to work individually and as a member of a team
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- High level of integrity and strict adherence to protecting confidential information
- Good organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to manage time well in a fast-paced, ever-changing, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Education and/or Experience:
- Completion of Sophomore or Junior year by June 2023 from a four-year university preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience in college, community, internship, or co-op experience
