Role Background:
The Business Developer will report directly to the Office Lead and will work in collaboration with Lead Advisors to generate business through new client acquisition.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on new client acquisition through external events and meetings. With Lead Advisors meet with qualified prospects and COIs.
- Business Development:
- Seeks new clients through sales, marketing, and referrals
- Embrace nfp and look to implement cross sell opportunities
- Initiates, develops and maintains strategic alliance relationships
- Developments and implements select referral strategies
- Responsible for initial relationship and follow-up with prospects
- Utilize technology to source qualified prospects
- Review and evaluate prospect lists regularly
- Attend designated industry meetings and trainings
- Marketing:
- Participate on Marketing Committee
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Coordinator to follow-up with prospects generated through external marketing efforts
- Contribute to external marketing efforts through papers and other forms of communication
- Stay abreast of changes in the external marketing and business development environment
- Systems
- Proficient with in-house office systems - Client Relationship Management and Document Management Systems
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office® Suite.
- Performs other duties as and when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and at least two years of relevant work experience
- Comfortable following up on leads generated through prospecting events and outreach
- Comfortable in social situations and making introductions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a team environment
- Continuously exhibits personal integrity and professional initiative.
- Reliable, follows through on commitments, self-starter when it comes to new challenges.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to manage and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with others.
