Blue Sky Risk (a subsidiary of NFP) is looking for an Underwriting Specialist to join their Park Shield, LLC division. Park Shield, LLC is a high growth company founded in 2021 to provide insurance coverage to Manufactured Housing Communities. We are currently growing our team in Atlanta, Georgia. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced underwriters. To excel in this job, you must be comfortable working with a moderate level of ambiguity while finding solutions to new problems. This entry level position will be responsible for underwriting administrative needs and helping to build both our brand and organization. Risk Management and Insurance majors preferred, but all degrees are welcome. Insurance experience is also preferred but not required for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Review applications and perform initial underwriting
- Identifying and gathering relevant account information for new business and renewal
- policy activity
- Participate with Underwriters in the renewal and new business activities that support
- marketing and underwriting decisions that are consistent with growth and retention goals.
- Process endorsements, policy changes, and account renewals
- Assess clients’ current insurance placements for strengths and deficiencies
- Work directly with specialized insurance brokers to develop business relationships
- Scheduling inspections and monitoring for compliance with recommendations.
- Manage account documentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:
- Highly self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work effectively in an early stage, high
growth environment.
- Willingness to learn quickly in a constantly evolving environment
- Strong math and analytical skills with an emphasis on problem-solving
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite products
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: N/A
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree (Risk Management & Insurance degree preferred)
- Commercial property & casualty experience helpful but not required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
- Property & Casualty License Required after 2 months of employment
