Summary
The Financial Analyst will support the VP of Finance in all financial functions within corporate as well as partnering with the Business Integration team, Accounting, and Technology. This position requires the FA to participate in the development of financial and accounting reporting, strategies, objectives and operating plans to meet business growth and profitability goals. Additionally, the FA will support the VP of Finance to manage the financial forecast and budgets to support the attainment of those goals and objectives. The position will interact with all levels within the organization (accounting, sales, operations, technology, M&A, legal).
Core Accounting Functions
- Provide support to FP&A team to obtain operational efficiencies, financial policies, and business strategy
- Assist with annual budgets and forecasts, including identify major drivers and opportunities/risks; update as needed
- Provide support to present financial reporting and analysis to both regional and corporate management
- Analyze, understand, and explain to relevant parties year-over-year variations of actual or projected financial result
- Provide support in financial statistics of the firms supported including C&F roll forward, headcount analysis and other relevant KPI’s
- Analyze, understand, and explain to relevant parties any variations of actual results from budget/forecast
- Work with team to create reports and presentations
- Provide support for acquisition integration
- Execute on various Corporate Finance initiatives
Education/Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Insurance brokerage experience is preferred
- Entry level (1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting preferred)
- Experience with Lawson, Cognos, IBM Planning Analytics & an insurance agency management system software is a plus (EPIC & Salesforce)
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, reporting systems, and capacity to learn new systems
- Excel knowledge is highly desired
