Retirement Plan & Advisory Team Intern (TPA)

This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week.
Summary: This is a full-time position for the summer months, working with NFP’s Retirement Plan Advisory and Third-Party Administration Teams and other members. The intern will be based in NFP’s downtown Minneapolis, MN office and build relationships with members of our seven Retirement Plan Teams located across the country. The position requires day to day work with a variety of internal NFP systems and vendor retirement plan vendor sites to support the ongoing administration of institutional retirement plans, their plan sponsors and plan participants.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
- Assist Advisory Team members gathering data to assist with form completion and client meeting preparation
- Support TPA Team members with research and data review to assist our Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Retirement Plan Clients
- Review, analyze and summarize data in succinct, clear and written communication using Microsoft office tools to support our Advisors, Consultants and Plan Administrators
- Scan and catalog reports from external retirement plan vendors and proprietary systems in SharePoint to archive client and plan participant records
- Actively participate in a variety of projects to standardized procedures and operating systems for our Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution practices across the country

- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize
- Eagerness to learn retirement and actuarial topics
Education and/or Experience:
- Pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Strategic and Business Communications, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration & Economics, Mathematical Economics, Risk and Business Management and/or Actuarial Science
- Strong Working Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Word
- Ability to communicate and interface effectively, efficiently and professionally with internal team members and external NFP clients
The base hourly range for this position is $18.00 – $22.00. The base pay rate offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base pay, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
