The Benefit Analyst conducts RFP (quoting and spreadsheeting) for existing clients and new prospects. This individual is required to be highly efficient in math with strong typing skills. Must be able to multi-task with ability to prioritize the workload. A keen attention to timelines and deadlines is a critical aspect of this position. Must possess the ability to work with multiple carrier vendors and perform renewal negotiations while maintaining communications with team of Account Executives, Account Managers and Producers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates RFP and conducts solicitations by submitting to multiple carriers.
  • Monitors RFP process to secure quotes on a timely basis and manage deadlines.
  • Requests client renewals from carriers (as needed, if not provided by AM Team)
  • Spreadsheeting of carrier quotes that includes proof reading for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verifies carrier commissions and communicates final commissions to team.
  • Completes Employee Contribution Analysis when needed.
  • Completes Network Analysis when needed.
  • Performs renewal negotiations when directed.
  • Maintains company database, Salesforce, for quoting activity.
  • Maintains client files with a fully completed carrier solicitation spreadsheet to help manage due dates and commission information.
  • Maintains carrier solicitation lists for all lines of coverages.
  • Meets regularly with internal team that consists of Account Executive, Account Manager and Benefit Coordinator to discuss renewal strategy, required commission and timelines/due dates.
  • Coordinates necessary client information with internal team members to facilitate RFP. This includes census, MHQ (medical health questionnaire), Form Fire, experience, and large claim information.
  • Meets with carrier representatives and attends carrier seminars/webinars to learn new product offerings. Communicates new product information to AM Teams.
  • Provides current and renewal information to Account Manager for pre-renewal meetings.
  • Attends internal group meetings and webinars for compliance updates and staff education.
  • Attends client functions and key client meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Strong math and Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to multitask and good attention to detail is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Ability to respond professionally and accurately to requests received from personnel, clients, carriers, customers, and general public.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong peer review and typing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities/deadlines.
  • To perform this job successfully, individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft.
  • Outlook and Intermediate - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
  • common fractions, decimals and calculate percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education and/or Experience:

  • College Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Employee Benefits or related experience, or any combination of education, experience and training that provides knowledge and abilities to perform the job.

The base salary range for this position is $46,000 to $60,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
