With a strong foundation of client relationships, acquisitions, and growth potential, we are in the process of standing up new systems, processes, and controls to support our next phase of expansion. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the financial infrastructure of a high-growth platform from the ground up.
Summary:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for building and leading the accounting and financial reporting function of the company. This individual will establish scalable processes, implement systems, and ensure strong financial controls as the business transitions from its legacy environment to a stand-alone entity. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, financial reporting requirements, and future growth initiatives, including potential acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Leadership: Build and oversee the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, accounting policies, and implementing new accounting standards.
- System Implementation: Select and implement the company’s accounting and ERP systems, ensuring integration with operations and reporting needs.
- Financial Reporting: Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC Regulation S-K and S-X; prepare reporting packages for private equity sponsors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Design and implement effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Carve-Out Transition: Manage the financial separation from the former parent company, including stand-up of independent processes, opening balance sheet reconciliation, and transition service agreements.
- Audit & Tax: Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and relationships with external advisors.
- Team Development: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team to support company growth.
- Strategic Support: Partner with the CFO and leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, M&A integration, and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 8+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
- Prior experience in a carve-out, stand-up, or private equity-backed environment strongly preferred.
- Wealth management, financial services, or asset management industry experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success implementing ERP/accounting systems and building processes from scratch.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP) and familiarity with financial reporting to private equity stakeholders.
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

The base salary range for this position is $185,000.00 – $247,000.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
