At One Door, our vision is to bring the retail in-store vision to life. As we pursue our mission to be the #1 Visual Merchandising platform we are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Software Engineer to extend and enhance our existing capabilities.

Want to know what types of problems we are solving and how impactful you can be?

Take one of our clients for example: whenever a new iPhone is launched, HQ needs to coordinate in-store changes for nearly 1,000 locations, with an interface that’s intuitive enough for seasonal workers to easily understand. Changes like this happen multiple times a week and impact thousands of items on their shelves, which leads to hundreds of millions of rows of data in our application. Our application replaces binders full of spreadsheets and PDFs and seriously changes the way retail businesses manage their stores so that associates can spend more time with customers.

Wondering who would make a great fit?

We have embraced a remote and flexible work environment. We’re looking for a senior engineer with command over full stack development, experience implementing cloud services, and making engineering decisions for building loosely coupled, scalable, performant, and observable solutions.

You will work with a team of talented developers and engineering professionals who are equally passionate about their work and the impact they have on each other and the customers. We emphasize learning and iterations over dogmatic approaches. We operate with transparency and a flat team structure where influence and camaraderie is highly favored over power and authority. Our perks are structured to enable shared and introspective self improvements.

You will find our work environment to match your style of working if you have a mindset of ownership, figuring out ways around blockers, and bias for stick-to-itiveness and getting it done.

What you will do:

Design and develop software solutions that are well tested, have high degree of supportability, performant, quickly deployable, and adhere to best practices
Lead projects requiring a high level of technical expertise, industry experience and product domain knowledge
Mentor and guide other engineering team members
Collaborate with other team members from DevOps, Product, and Customer Experience

Who you are:

A talented, senior engineer with a high learning agility, strong sense of pace and quality
Someone with a proven track record of being the “go to” technology expert
Deep and wide knowledge of open source technology and technology trends
A self-motivated individual with a deep sense of pride in your work
An effective collaborator with excellent verbal and written communications skills

What you have done:

Education in a technical discipline and experience (BS in Computer Science preferred)
8+ years engineering experience that includes designing and developing highly performant enterprise scale web applications
Experience with Ruby on Rails, REST APIs, messaging, relational databases, Python (a big plus), JavaScript, React, Jenkins, Postman
Experience writing automated tests, managing mock and real test data, observability, and configuring cloud services in AWS and/or Azure
Experience making architectural decisions on loose/tight coupling, APIs, non-functional requirements, serverless/containers/VM environments
Expert level knowledge of Git and relevant unit test frameworks
Experience working with agile software development methodologies and key best practices

What we offer:

We have a culture here that people rave about, with remote and flexible work options, excellent and comprehensive benefits, and competitive compensation.

As a company, we pride ourselves on inclusion in the workplace. One Door is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Specific benefits include:
Competitive salary, equity, 401k match, and annual bonus
Engineering Improvement Days: One day every other week to focus on self improvement or company-related side projects
Medical/Vision/Dental/Disability/Life Insurance
Fully paid Maternity & Paternity leave
Competitive commuter benefits (Boston area)
Paid time off, flexible hours, and flexible work-from-home schedules
Modern hardware (current or previous year’s MacBook Pro)
