The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, the People and Culture Business Partner is an integral role that will work closely with all the business units to support and align the organisational strategic priorities across the entire network.
This role will provide advisory services to enable leaders to drive the day-to-day objectives of their individual business units. Supporting the People and Culture Team and the Senior Leadership Team across the organisation, the successful incumbent will be at the forefront of managing the employment relations remit, supporting performance and conduct processes, managing RTW provisions and be responsible for providing expert HR guidance whilst ensuring compliance and industry best practice.
In addition, this role will also be a key person in the delivery of the many exciting People and Culture projects and programs for 2025 -2026, including impending enterprise agreement negotiations.
No two days will be the same. What you can expect:
- Providing day-to-day generalist Human Resources (HR) advice and support to business leaders and key stakeholders;
- Providing advice on HR policies and procedures and the application and interpretation of Awards and existing Enterprise Agreements.
- Taking the lead on workplace investigations
- Contributing to the cyclical reporting requirements for key stakeholders
- Provide on-boarding support to hiring managers ensuring a best practice employee experience for new starters.
- Proactively supporting and coordinating the delivery of key projects and programs particularly those aligned with the company’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy
- Supporting the Head of People and Culture and acting as their 2IC as required
- Assist in the delivery of People and Culture initiatives as part of the Transdev John Holland Buses Business Plan
Who are you?
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a Human Resources role or similar role in a medium sized Transport company with a strong emphasis on EA and Award interpretation and application
- Sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resources practices and relevant legislation
- Demonstrated experience in a blue-collar unionised environment
- Exceptional time management, planning and organisational skills
- Stakeholder focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong focus on delivering outcomes and high attention to detail
- Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Continuous improvement and basic project management skills
