We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Telecommunications Engineer at our Perth Office on a permanent basis.
Your role in action:
As the Telecommunications Engineer you will be required to apply engineering knowledge and skills in the planning, design and installation of Western Power or customer telecommunication facilities.
- Undertake specialist technical and engineering work as outlined under the role purpose.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend technical and engineering process and system improvements.
- Deliver services to commercially competitive standards for technical excellence, safety, environmental quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Operate commercially and competitively in meeting quality, time and budget standards.
- Drive value in the business and ensure delivery of risk managed outputs.
- Investigate, recommend, and adopt industry best practice for client or work areas.
- Comply with all legal and contracting requirements
- Deliver telecommunication conceptual and detailed designs
Who are you in action:
You will ideally possess the following experience and attributes:
- Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia
- Preferably 4-6 years’ experience in a multi-disciplined engineering role in an electric utility environment
- The Telecommunications Engineer will have sound knowledge of the system design of – Fixed & Mobile Radio (VHF-SHF), Cable Carrier Systems (Metallic/Optical Fibre), Mux Networks, High Speed Digital Transmission, Power Line Carrier systems, Tele protection systems, Supervisory systems, Electronic security systems
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
