We are a highly collaborative team working on solving complex problems which will make our system efficient and scalable and reduce the cost at the same time. You will design and deliver systems that enable partners across Microsoft and 3rd party partners like ISVs to use OneDrive and SharePoint as the industry’s best file collaboration platform. You will work on designing frameworks, protocols to improve core systems performance, scalability and cost efficiencies, and ensure zero customer impact throughout the change management cycle. You will deliver systems to meet our business continuity planning goals, provide telemetry for optimizing the service, and drive down our response time for detecting and automatically resolving service issues.
Responsibilities
We are looking for smart, agile, and intellectually curious engineers who like solving complex problems, love working with data, love creating and building things that delight and protect our customers. You will be working with a team of talented engineers and product managers and also other teams across Microsoft to deliver large scale, distributed architectures, protocols and features to meet OneDrive and SharePoint's core infrastructure needs.
As an engineer in our team, you will contribute to and help shape the vibrant, inclusive engineering culture of OneDrive & SharePoint. You will be expected to do deep, data-driven, collaborative design for additions and changes to our products. You will write clean, efficient code and comprehensive tests. You will build excellent coverage with metrics and telemetry to ensure we understand exactly what is happening with our services at all times. And you will deliver features that will support and serve hundreds of millions of customers around the world.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry programming, software development, and/or software engineering experience.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent
- Collaborate with partner teams to meet the engineering goals in a unified manner
- Proficient in delivering and interacting with REST API’s and web services across multiple systems
- Strong coding, debugging, algorithm design and problem-solving skills.
- Experience designing cloud-scale services and server/service management features.
- Experience mentoring and coaching peers and early-in-career engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components.
- Awareness, passion, and experience related to cloud scale distributed design and patterns.
- Familiar with secure software design concepts
- Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components
- Ability and eagerness to work across and partner with multiple engineering teams to achieve business goals
